100% Pre-let - 8 Unit Doncaster Leisure Development
Doncaster Council has announced today that it has 100% pre-let its Lakeside Triangle leisure development opposite the existing VUE Cinema at Lakeside.
Construction of the scheme is well underway, with units available for handover to the occupiers in late Spring 2019. The development incorporates 8 units, comprising 3 restaurants, a coffee shop, dessert parlour and 3 drive thru units. Pre-lets have been signed with TGI’s, Costa Coffee, Creams Desserts, Urban Fresh Burgers & Fries, Estabulo Brazilian Restaurant, Taco Bell, Dunkin’ Donuts and Burger King.
Richard Shuttleworth of Leeds -based Pudney Shuttleworth Leisure Property Specialists who has agreed the lettings commented: “Having just signed Doncaster company, Urban Burgers for the final unit, the scheme can open fully let in late Spring / early Summer 2019. Against the backdrop of a difficult mainstream casual dining market we are all delighted to have achieved our objective, with the team working extremely well together to make this development happen. It is testament to the fundamentals of the site and the Doncaster catchment that we have been able to secure such a fantastic and varied line up”.
The Lakeside Triangle site is directly opposite the existing 11 screen VUE cinema and 10 Pin Bowling, with the other main footfall drivers being the Doncaster Dome concert venue and leisure centre and the large Asda Superstore immediately to the north.
Simon Maxton of Doncaster Council added: “in conjunction with the significant leisure anchors already trading at Lakeside Triangle, along with the Premier Inn Hotel and Retail Outlet Village less than a mile away, we believe Lakeside Triangle will become a regional destination, widening the Doncaster retail and leisure catchment further and giving our existing residents a truly first class leisure destination they can be proud of.
Doncaster Council, again advised by Leisure Property Agents Pudney Shuttleworth is now proposing a town centre 6 screen cinema and restaurant development in the Civic and Cultural Quarter of Doncaster town centre. The site is adjacent to the established and successful CAST Theatre which already welcomes in excess of 120,000 visitors a year and construction is programmed to start in early 2019. Shuttleworth added; early pre-let discussions for the 5 restaurants and bars are already taking place, with terms out on 2 of the 5 units and we are making good progress with the others. The attractiveness of the Doncaster demographic has already been proven at Lakeside, with the Triangle scheme now fully pre-let and we look forward to concluding a further raft of lettings in the town centre over the coming months.”
